A love letter to Nantucket, the Registry started as a list of house names displayed on quarterboards around the island collected on an afternoon bike ride after several homes were spotted sharing the same name. Part social register, part living history project, the Registry’s mission has since expanded to fill a research gap in local history and genealogy by recording the names and histories of homes to include all displayed or publicly known house names, and has grown to more than 1,300 entries representing over one hundred years of homes, families, and stories across the United States.
